How To Stand On A Paddle Board?

First, you need to stand next to your surfboard and submerge yourself in knee-deep water (deep enough so that the fins on your surfboard don't touch the bottom). Holding the edge of the board, climb up onto the board in a kneeling position, just behind the center point of the board (you can quickly find the center of the board by finding the carry handles). Place your hands on either side of the board to stabilize it, and move one foot at a time, bringing your feet where your knees are.

Once you're standing up, there are a few things you can do to maintain your balance on the board:
1,Position your feet so they are parallel, hip-width apart, and centered on the edge of the board.
2,Keep your toes pointed forward, knees slightly bent, and back straight.
3,Keep your head and shoulders stable and upright, and shift your weight by moving your hips.
4,Your gaze should be level with the horizon. Avoid staring at your feet.

Despite your best efforts to balance on the board, you're going to fall into the water at some point. Even experienced paddlers can stumble from time to time, so don't worry if you feel a little wobbly and remember that SUP is a water sport, so it's okay to get wet.

For those inevitable moments of being off-balance:
Aim yourself to one side so you fall into the water instead of onto the board. Falling on the board is more likely to cause injury.
Try to grab the paddle as you fall. If you become separated from it, first retrieve your board and get back on it, then paddle with your hands to get the paddle.

To get back on your SUP after a fall:
1,Position yourself next to the surfboard and close to the center.
2,Grasp the handle in the center of the board with one hand.
3,Let your legs float to the surface behind you, then kick your legs while pulling on the handles to slide yourself onto the board.

SUP will be a little difficult at the beginning, but don't worry, this is what most people will experience. If you stick with it, you will experience the fun of SUP.
